Manual winch is a winch drum with vertical installation form.

A manual winch is a mechanical device with a vertically installed winch drum that can be wound but does not store ropes under power drive. It also refers to a winch with a rotating axis perpendicular to the deck. Simply put, the working mechanism inside the winch is: the electricity from the car first drives the motor, which then drives the drum to rotate. The drum then drives the driving shaft, which in turn drives the planetary gears, generating strong torque. Subsequently, the torque is transmitted back to the drum, which drives the winch. There is a clutch between the motor and the reducer, which can be switched on and off through a handle. The braking unit is inside the drum, and when the rope is tightened, the drum automatically locks.

In practical applications, some auxiliary items are essential for safe and smooth use of the winch, such as gloves that can safely protect hands. In addition, if you want to fix the winch to a tree, you also need a strap, a U-shaped lifting eye, and a tension pulley. The strap is used to fix the fulcrum. It’s ideal length is 1.5 to 2.0m; The U-shaped lifting eye can connect the hook to the belt and winch. So, it's best to prepare several sizes of lifting lugs; When using two or three wires to change the dragging direction, a tightening pulley is required.

1. The traction force of the winch is determined in pounds and can be converted into tons or kilograms through conversion. It is best to choose a winch with a high weight, as the weight of a trapped vehicle is often much higher than the weight of a daily vehicle. Do not tow objects that exceed the traction of the winch.

2. The more turns the steel cable of the winch wraps around the reel, the less tension the outer ring has. And a winch with a long winding shaft can reduce the number of windings turns to increase the traction of the outer ring. For the same winch, using shorter steel cables has a greater traction force on the outer ring than using longer steel cables.
